Sensei Elaine, how long have you studied the Martial Arts?
I've been studying for 5 years.
Why did you begin studying Karate?
I began studying Tai Chi to help with my back problems, and it broadened into Karate and Chi Kung.
What motivates you to come to class each week?
It's fun! Coming to class is an escape from the "outside world" and I want to learn about Martial Arts.
Why did you decide to become an instructor?
I believe there is more to Martial Arts than kicking and punching, and want to teach people that they can carry Martial Arts principles over into their every day lives.
What benefits do you personally get from studying Karate?
The biggest benefit has been how to problem solve. Other benefits have been confidence, physical fitness, and self-defense.
What is the best advice you can give your students?
Never, Never, Never Give Up!
Why should children and adults study Karate?
Karate becomes a way of life with enormous rewards.
What goals do you hope to achieve in your training?
Black belt is just the beginning. I hope to expand on everything I have learned in the past five years.
